I enjoyed exploring the multimedia tools introduced to our class on Thursday. Using multimedia tools is a new experience for me. I have always been interested in creating a video with photographs and putting it to background music. I was proud of my work using Animoto to create a short video of my class field trip to Brookside Gardens.
Using multimedia tools can enhance the communication between schools and families. Many parents are unable to attend school events or volunteer in their child's classroom. Teachers can provide families with video clips using photos taken from their digital cameras. They can email the video clips to the families of the children in their classes. These videos can allow families to see the activities going on in school even if they are not able to be present. Teachers can make video clips of field trips, classroom lessons, student work and other classroom events.
